who are we
In 1999, the Core Group of Cleveland County was introduced as a self-motivated team of professional community-based advocates working collectively to make the academic journey of minority students a successful path. Over the years, the group has continually innovated and collaborated with other community and education partners to address other social, economic, and educational issues and concerns. Today, the group has re-structured as the Core Community Coalition a newly formed 501 © (3) organization working collaboratively to create educational and economic opportunities and play a central role in communicating and coordinating strategic initiatives to accelerate progress and collective impact. As a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, the CORE Community Coalition seeks to continue to elevate the quality of life within the minority community through collaborative leadership, education, and access to opportunities Moreover, the group’s mission is to also continue to advance a shared vision, organizational sustainability, to coordinate strategic and tactical initiatives, as well as leverage its resources to accelerate progress and collective impact.
milestone
From its humble beginning in 1999, this year marks 25 years of persistent and steadfast commitment to better education outcomes, opportunities, and high expectations for our youths. The group was active in sponsoring a variety of activities such as Male and Female Forums, Distinguished Image Awards and Scholarship Program, The Annual Education Summit, Faith-Based Forums, High School AP Programs, Community Math Academy, and the Leadership Academy. As a new 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the CORE Community Coalition Inc. seeks to continue to elevate the quality of life within the minority community through collaborative leadership, education, and access to opportunities.
